Sights from the Sidelines: Only in America

A prayer in Jesus’ name.  Our national anthem.  Rhea County Golden Eagles: 28; That other team from some other place: 7.  Friday night football.  Only in America.  This is why I was proud to serve in the United States Army and why I would do so again if I were needed.  Every Friday night in America thousands upon thousands of people gather to watch their children and grandchildren, their nieces and nephews, their students and friends play on the field or in the band.  They come to cheer on the cheerleaders or give the booster club a boost.  Only in America.  I bleed red, white and blue.  Nights like tonight remind me why.  Rhea County scored as the third quarter began.  1-2 may not be the way the team had hoped to begin the season, but getting the first win “under their belts” is a good thing.  How did your school do?  Go Eagles!
