One of the benefits of living here is fall. Our rolling green hills turn into a beautiful, earth-toned tapestry. As I write this, Tennessee is changing. My hope is that something even more miraculous is happening. I want to be changing. Let me put that another way: I want to be growing. More specifically, I want to be growing more and more into the likeness of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I have been commanded to do so throughout the Scriptures. My heavenly Father wants me to look like His Heavenly Son. And that truly is miraculous. Since this is my quest, I choose to do certain things and choose not to do other activities. For example, this weekend I attended church and personally sought the Lord in His Word and in prayer. That’s the positive. The negative (which is actually also a positive if handled correctly) is that I chose not to watch certain movies due to their ungodly content. I have often prayed that I want to be a godly man when I am sixty, but I am not going to wait until I am 59 1/2 before I put my hand to the plow! Today is the day for me to meet with God. Today is the day for me to fight the fight of faith. Today is the day for me to set aside those sins which so easily beset me. Today is the day for me to ensure that my faith has feet. Today is your day as well. Tennessee is changing. Let’s change too!
