Three men. All doing the right thing.
He wanted to know. He needed truth. One night he came to Jesus seeking answers (3:1,2).
Second MAN–Jesus Christ
He had the answers Nicodemus needed to hear. Salvation was possible for Nicodemus and for all who would believe–regardless of their nationality (3:3-21).
Third man–John the Baptist
He had the correct perspective. Pointing people to Jesus, the heavenly-sent Christ (3:27-35), John joyfully declared, “He must increase; I must decrease” (3:36).
I love John, chapter three. We err in only camping on verse sixteen, as wonderful as it is. The context before and after the “end zone” verse illustrates clearly that Jesus Christ is truly amazing!
With a little over a week left before Easter, I am already celebrating the person and works of Christ!
